줄거리

여필종부, 출가외인, 칠거지악, 궁중비색 등의 봉건적인 인습에 얽매여 희생되어간 이조 여인들의 모습을 엮은 토막물. 1.여필종부:대감댁과 사돈을 맺으려는 아버지의 욕심으로 어린신랑을 맞아야 하는 여인의 비극적인 일생을 묘사. 2.출가외인:며느리에게 외아들을 빼앗겼다고 생각하는 시어머니로 인해 며느리가 누명을 쓰고 죽는 내용. 3.칠거지악:남편의 불임증으로 머슴과 통정한후 자살한다는 내용. 4.궁중비색:왕의 시중을 드는 상궁이 왕의 자식이 아닌 아이를 낳자 그녀를 죽이려고 하는데 상궁은 구사일생으로 궁을 탈출한다.

The movie is an omnibus film about women of Joseon Dynasty victimized by the feudalistic conventions. 1. Yeopiljongbu: A tragic life of a woman who has to marry a young boy because her father wants to have a relation with the minister's family. 2. Chulgawoein: A woman is falsely accused and killed because her mother-in-law thinks she has taken away her son. 3. Chilgeojiak: A woman married to an impotent man commits a suicide after she sleeps with a servant. 4. Gungjungbisaek: A court lady gives a birth to a baby not related to the king. She faces death threats but escapes from the palace.
