줄거리

어느 작은 도시의 뮤직홀에서 노래하는 롤라(마를레네 디트리히)는 매일 밤 매혹적인 샹소네트를 부른다. 그녀에게 반한 손님들 중에는 그 지역 중학교 학생들도 있다. 제자들의 수상쩍은 유흥거리에 대해 알게 된 라트 교수(에밀 야닝스)는 이 평판 나쁜 업소를 직접 찾기로 한다. 할리우드에서 돌아온 야닝스의 복귀작이자 마를레네 디트리히에게 세계적인 명예를 안겨준 작품이다.

A singer at a music hall in a small town, Lola (Marlene Dietrich) sings charming chansonettes (French songs) every night. Even middle school students in the town fall into her. Professor Rath gets suspicious on his students’ amusement, and visits the bar by himself. It is the first film after he returned to Germany from Hollywood, and the one which offered world reputation to Marlene Dietrich.
