이 단편 다큐멘터리는, 두 살 때인 1942년 일본의 세균전으로 마비저균에 감염된 중국 농부 지앙춘건의 초상이다. 직계 가족들은 감염되자마자 모두 숨졌으나 홀로 살아남은 그는, 70년 동안 문자 그대로 아물지 않고 벌어진 채 자신을 괴롭히는 상처에 굴하지 않고 살아가고 있다.
This documentary short is a portrait of an elderly Chinese farmer who was infected by Japanese biological warfare (glanders) in 1942, when he was 2 years old. The rest of his immediate family members perished from their infections, but he has lived and persevered for 70 years with open wounds.

The passage of time does not heal all wounds; it cannot settle all accounts or resolve all disputes. But the identities of the perceived perpetrators can change, and a national apology’s task is to document, to put on record, a symbolic act as a prelude to possible reconciliation and forgiveness. In order to achieve these ends one’s sincerity is paramount, especially when reading from a script.
