내가 사는 곳은 햇빛이 가득 넘치는 마을 밀양입니더. 지는 10년 전에 농사짓는 게 너무 힘들어가 좀 쉴라고 공기 좋고 물 맑은 밀양에 터 잡았어예. 내 이웃도 몸이 안 좋아서 몸 나술라고 들어오고…. 근데 요즘 내 생활이 많이 서글퍼예. 우리 마을에 765인가 뭐신가 송전탑이 들어선다고 난리데. 작년엔 옆 마을 어른이 자기 목숨 끊어버렸심니더. 내도 나무 잘라삐는 거 막다가 손자 같은 인부한테 개처럼 질질 끌려댕기면서 평생 못 듣던 욕도 묵고. 그때 두들겨 맞은 상처가 아직도 그대로라예. 밀양에 송전탑이 총 64개가 들어선다카는데…. 그거 때메 8년 싸웠어예, 8년! 이야기하자면 긴데, 한번 들어보실랍니꺼!

I live in Miryang, the town of sunlight. I settled here 10 years ago because it was getting harder for me to live with all of the farm work and, with its clean air and water, this was a perfect place to take a rest. I am not the only one. One of my neighbors came here to recover from bad health, too. However, my life nowadays has become so sad and bitter. Transmission towers, called 765 something, are said to be built in the neighborhood, and it is making so much trouble. Last year, an old man who lived in another town not far from here killed himself because of it. And I, trying to stop the construction people cutting down trees, was dragged around by young men far below my age, getting insulted with harsh words I'd never heard before. I still have the scars from being beaten by them back then. People say that 64 transmission towers are going to be seated in Miryang... It's been 8 years since I started the fight against it. 8 years! It's quite a long story, but would you like to listen to it?
