아피찻퐁 위라세타쿤이 크리스텔 르뢰와 공동으로 작업한 비디오 설치 작품. 태국 어느 섬의 해안, 놀고 있는 아이들 사이로 유령이 배회한다.
A video installation in collaboration with Christelle LHEUREUX. A ghost is wandering along the rocky coastline of a Thai island. The children see the ghost when they play at the coast.

태국과 미얀마 국경 어딘가에 ‘녹피’(유령새)라 불리는 피조물이 산다고 한다. 녹피는 다른 동물의 피를 빨아 먹고, 심지어 사람도 공격한다고 한다. <뱀파이어>는 이 기묘한 새와 그 서식처에 대한 몽상이다.
Somewhere along the border of Thailand and Myanmar lives a creature called Nok Phii (Ghost Bird) or there used to. Nok Phii feeds on other animals’ blood and even attacks human.

유령의 집 Haunted Houses

<유령의 집>은 태국 미디어 문화에 대한 성찰이다. 감독은 그의 고향 근처 주민에게 태국 군대의 TV방송에서 따온 각본을 연기해줄 것을 부탁한다. 내용은 사랑과 건강에 관한 것이다. 여섯 마을로부터 온 66명의 주민들은 그의 영화 속에 연기자로 참여한다. 이야기는 계속 이어지지만, 촬영지와 연기하는 주민들이 바뀜에 따라 인물도 바뀐다.
Haunted Houses is one of the four works in which Apichatpong deals with various forms of media addiction in the Thai cultural landscape. For this particular work, the narrative was directly scripted from two episodes of a popular Thai military television channel called Tong Prakaisad. The filmmaker then traveled to the villages near his home and asked villagers to participate by acting according to the script. All 66 villagers from six villages participated, playing roles. The story was continuous, but the actors who played the characters were constantly changed as the filming location moved from one village to another.
