줄거리

고종을 섭정하던 대원군(김승호)은 조중구(김진규)와 정혼이 되어있는 민씨(최은희)를 중전으로 들인다. 이미 후궁(이민자)이 있었던 고종(남궁원)은 민비에게 정을 주지 않고, 민비는 죽은 조중구를 그리워하며 외로워한다. 쇄국정책을 펼친 대원군이 경복궁 재건을 위해 국민들의 혈세를 모으고 재원이 모자란다고 급기야 종묘에 있는 은궤를 파내자, 민비는 이 일을 계기로 섭정을 끝내도록 고종을 조종한다.

When Prince Daewon (Seung-Ho Kim) rules as regent for King Gojong, he gets Miss Min (starring Choi Eun-Hee) as his daughter-in-law, who would be arranged a marriage with Cho Joong-gu (starring Kim Jin-kyu). King Gojong already has a royal concubine (starring Lee Min-ja), so does not love Queen Min who feels lonely and misses Cho Joong-gu who died a while ago. Prince Daewon with a national isolation policy wastes the people’s precious tax for reestablishing Kyung-bok Palace, and digs up the silver coffers from the ancestral shrine of the royal family due to the lack of finance at last. Queen Min controls King Gojong to finish the Prince Regent for this event.
